Policy and Rules for Certification
Last updated: April 29, 2026
Certification Mark Usage
Certified clients may display the ZERTIA Certification Mark following approval. Applicants cannot use it, though they may state they have applied for certification. The mark must remain unmodified and appear with clear text indicating what is certified and which body granted it.
The ZERTIA Certification Mark must not be used in any way that may be interpreted as denoting product conformity. When appearing on packaging or promotional materials, statements must clearly identify the certified organization, specify the management system type and applicable standard, and name ZERTIA as the certifying body.
Any mention of ZERTIA certification must clearly indicate the client holds a certified management system, never implying the product itself is certified.
Client Obligations
- Conform to these rules in all communications.
- Avoid misleading statements about their certification.
- Discontinue all references upon certification withdrawal.
- Update materials when scope is reduced.
- Prevent use that suggests ZERTIA certifies products or activities outside the certification scope.
Violations
Incorrect references or misleading uses may result in suspension, withdrawal of certification, publication of the transgression, and, if necessary, legal action.
ANAB Accreditation Symbol
The ANAB Accreditation Symbol may only be used after formal ANAB accreditation is obtained. It must appear with the ZERTIA mark on approved materials using specified colors (black/blue and red on light backgrounds, or white on dark). The ANAB symbol cannot exceed the certification mark’s size and must never appear in isolation.
Upon accreditation withdrawal, clients must immediately cease all usage and destroy related materials.
UKAS National Accreditation Symbol
This symbol requires valid UKAS-accredited certification. It must always appear combined with the ZERTIA Certification Mark, including the accreditation number. Only official artwork provided by ZERTIA may be used.
The symbol requires a minimum height of 20mm (excluding accreditation number) and cannot appear on vehicles, buildings, flags, goods, or product packaging.
Upon suspension, expiry, or withdrawal, clients must immediately remove all symbol usage from all materials.
ENAC Accredited Certification Mark (MCA)
The MCA may only be used by organizations holding valid ENAC-accredited certificates and must appear as a single unit with the ZERTIA mark. It must display the certified organization’s name exactly as it appears on the certificate and only for certified activities.
Permitted uses: stationery, letterheads, invoices, advertising and promotional materials, press, television, billboards, bus advertising, and company vehicles.
Prohibited uses: The MCA must not be placed on the product or object resulting from a service and cannot appear on primary packaging, test reports, or documents implying product certification.
Upon withdrawal, suspension, or expiry, clients must immediately cease all MCA usage across all materials and media.
